Hmm, it does look like a drive cable off; these are now hot-melt glued in the factory so it shouldn't happen at all :(

Rob has intstructions about how to open the empeg & check the cable - unfortunately, he's on his way to the european meet now, so it'll probably have to wait until monday.

The CS4231 fail is quite possibly due to the drive cable being partially off - it is probably loading the bus down in strange ways.
