If you've got a genuine multimeter, please use that to make sure all the voltages are what you expect. Also make sure all the wires are doing what they're supposed to do. For instance, make sure that you haven't wired the headlight-sense line to the constant power, connected the amp remote to something other than the amp's remote line, etc.
