I noticed a lot of collisions on my hub while cloning the drive and doing other LAN functions on my system. Yes, I have a very cheap hub. I made up a crossover cable and just connected the two empegs to each other, seperate from my LAN. Now they are happily plugging away isolated from the LAN.
