Bruno, I have wave files on my empeg. In fact, all the music that I consider to be top quality, I retain the raw wave versions. No amount of encoding will improve the quality there. I'd say, at that point, it's up to the quality of the DAC, and it would be my wish to have a digital out to explore that avenue. Calvin
