I found the dud fuse... 

Now I just have to get a replacement and test my soldering skillz

I shorted the fuse with a pair of calipers and booted the empeg and the display is fine... I am SOOO happy it is just a fuse that blew...

I have attached a pic with the bad fuse ringed for interests sake...
