It's hard to say without knowing the error number.  But here are a few possibilities, assuming you are running 2.0 Beta 11:

1. The player had a known problem where it dosen't restart properly at the end of a sync.  No harm here, just pull the power and plug it back in.

2. A new bug.  Again, we need to know the error numbers to be able to debug it better.
