Need a explaination... HELP!

I am a relatively new Linux user, so please excuse my ignorance in 
such matters.

I have a Philips HDR212 with a 80gb secondary drive and a TivoNet 
card installed and running properly.

I have TivoWeb-tcl installed and operating, and my next step is 
extractstream.

Can anyone point me to a good FAQ or a general step by step to get 
extractstream working? I was able to get TivoApp to connect, but I 
dont think i am using proper versions of extractstream, or nc?

I have a linux box which i can use for extractions. Any help for 
getting extractstream working from the ground up?
