Directivo, TivoNET, and ExtractStream

So,if you are able to dump to VCR shouldn't you be able to look and 
see what processes are used to do that and then replicate them but 
direct the output to another output device instead of using 
the /dev/*** used for analog output?

Just a thought, but i think I will take a serious look at it...
