strange behavior in tnlited

ok.. i reboot the tivo, i can telnet in.. but as soon as i logout, 
tnlited exits.. i cant get back in! also, if i stay telnet'd in, and 
i do a plain nmap (no funny switches), i get kicked off, and the 
daemon seemlingly shuts itself down. ftp and httpd however still 
work.. has anyone experienced this? really weird behavior...
