Newbie Questions...

Greetings everyone. I am on the cusp of buying a TiVo Series2 from 
my local cable provider (AT&T Broadband). With Tivo 3.0 out and 
their unofficial support for USB Ethernet Adapters, I'm seriously 
thinking about picking one up (I currently have a ReplayTV 3030 and 
a Tivo 30 hour, so phone line usage is at a premium). I'm not all 
that comfortable with cracking open the Tivo box and was wondering 
if it is possible to get ExtractStream working on the Series2 
throught the use of the USB Ethernet or some other method, without 
pulling out the hard drive and mounting it in my machine? If this is 
possible, and someone could direct me to a webpage or such that 
could explain how to do it, the Series2 will be coming soon to my 
home theater system. Any help is appreciated, thanks...
