Using Samba mounted drives - good luck - samba no workey so good...
;-)

Using NFS with the default block sizes: about 300Kbytes per second

Using NFS with "optimized" block sizes / switch settings: about
750-800Kbytes per second
[to find them, search the archives for "NFS switch settings" or
somesuch...]

using Netcat - 950-1000Kbytes per second

These quotes are for 1 hour of high-quality video - size about
1.6GBytes of data.
