another Bay Area company.

Founded in June of 1994, the company is a privately held firm which
currently has over 150 employees worldwide. Its development and
manufacturing headquarters are located in Redwood City, CA.  The company
also has sales and service offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Paris. 

MISSION 
The company's mission is to be the premiere global provider of
microcellular network solutions for digital wireless communications. The
company's wireless radio access and distributed switching products allow
operators to build microcellular networks in an evolutionary form while
revolutionizing the delivery of customer solutions. Service distinction via
new market applications enhance subscription and airtime revenues in an
increasingly competitive marketplace. Microcellular networks - the next
generation wireless architecture - enable the global vision of personal
communications. 

Here are the details on the position:

Title:  Sr. GSM Tech Support Engineer
Location:  Paris
salary:  70K+
generous stock options at this pre-IPO planning to go public in '99
relocation package

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for providing hardware and software
technical support to worldwide clients. The candidate will also assist in
installation, configuration, optimization and complex troubleshooting at a
third level of GSM/DCS/PCS microcellular networks. 

Two types of engineers are needed: one oriented towards the Switching sub-
system which requires knowledge in telecommunication switches, ISDN, R2,
PBX, SS7; one oriented towards the Radio sub-system with background in RF,
LAPD, SS7, cell planning/testing/optimization. UNIX a plus. Proven customer
management skills. Some domestic/international travel required.

Prerequisites: 
BS or MS in EE 
3-7 years relevant experience in wireless and/or switching technologies,
such as GSM/CDMA/AMPS.
