-Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from 19.5 mi north of the Jct of SR 299 (Shasta Co) to 1.5 mi south of Bartle (Siskiyou Co) /Dead Horse Summit/

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from McCloud to 0.5 mi south of the Jct of I 5 (Siskiyou Co) /McCloud Summit/
