[IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - SOLANO CO] A high wind advisory is in effect on the Bay Bridge (San Francisco) to Toll Plaza /in Oakland/ (Alameda Co) - Travel is not recommended for campers, trailers, or permit loads
There is a dense fog advisory in effect at the Carquinez Bridge /in Vallejo/ (Contra Costa,Solano Co) - Motorists are advised to drive with caution
[IN THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA & SIERRA NEVADA] **For Eastbound Traffic:
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Cisco Grove (Placer Co) to Truckee (Nevada Co)
Eastbound trucks are being screened at Applegate (Placer Co) - Drivers must have maximum chains in their possession in order to proceed - Permit loads are prohibited
**For Westbound traffic:
Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Truckee to 2 mi east of the Jct of SR 20 /Eagle Lake/ (Nevada Co)
Westbound trucks are being screened 5 mi west of Reno /at Mogul/ (Washoe Co) - Drivers must have maximum chains in their possession in order to proceed - Permit loads are prohibited
Please research chain control locations as Caltrans is currently working to update chain control descriptions for consistency with internet mapping, like Google Maps & Mapquest
All westbound trucks are required to stop at the brake check area 0.5 mi west of Nyack (Placer Co)
[BUSINESS 80 - CAPITAL CITY FREEWAY] No traffic restrictions are reported for this area.
