This list is for Bay Area BMW M enthusiasts. While it was initially meant for M5's it doesn't really matter what M you have, or what E version. For that matter if you don't have an M, but you drive it like an M, you should get in too :) Enthusiast however doesn't mean you had a lot of money to put in a car, it means that you are pationate. Since this list is invitation only, you should Email bams-owner@lists.merlins.org and tell us why you are an enthusiast. Here are examples of what you can tell us about: - do you know what a point by is? - do you know what an early apex from a late apex? - maybe you have a favourite track? If so which one? laptime maybe? :) - How about AutoX? - Why does the rev limiter in the E39 start with lower values when the car starts and then gradually goes to 6500 RPM? - Why does the same rev limiter sometimes start at its maximum value when you get in the car? This list is archived, but the archives are visible by subscribers only. Using Bams
To post a message to all the list members, send email to bams@lists.merlins.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Bams
Subscribe to Bams by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
