[Empeg-general] DIY portable MP3 player

I'm sure a lot of you saw this on <A HREF="http://www.slashdot.org" target="_new">Slashdot</A>, but i thought i'd bring it up and get some thoughts on it...especially from the Empeg guys. 

It's a sort of <A HREF="http://www.pjrc.com/tech/mp3/" target="_new">Do It Yourself "portable" MP3 player</A>. They provide the board, you provide power, hard drive, and RAM. There's a few shots of the board itself, and an interesting <A HREF="http://www.pjrc.com/tech/mp3/info.html" target="_new">info</A> page which mentions using it as a car player as well as a "removable hard drive" player for your computer. (docking sled in a drive bay type thing). $150 preassembled and tested. Besides the obvious lackings in comparison to the empeg, what do you all think. I'm in no way meaning this to be a comparison or challenge to the Empeg...i'm actually just curious on the Empeg guys comments on the hardware itself.
