All I can say is that my tuner module gets great reception, so there's either something wrong with the tuner, with its wiring (including the antenna cable itself), or with the way it's hooked up. Your description still sounds like a classic case of bad-tunermodule-extender-cable, or unpowered-antenna-booster. Are you absolutely CERTAIN that those aren't the case?
