Watching via telnet?

Here's a wild idea: watch a video from your TiVo in a telnet window.

I must admit it doesn't rank very high on the usefulness scale, but it
would be fun, nevertheless.

Given that the TiVo has such a slow CPU, this would require another
Linux computer. I think the most reasonable way of doing this would
be run ExtractStream on the Tivo, pipe that through one of the
tyStream decoders, pipe that to mplayer and use the aalib video driver.

Are there any flaws with this idea? or is it just a matter of waiting
until the tools are polished up?
