Multiplexing trouble?

Are other people having the same problems multiplexing the streams 
together that I am?

I get the same results whether I run mplex on my Linux box or my TiVo: 
The first 10s or so look fine. After that, the framerate drops to 
about 2fps but the audio keeps playing normally.

Another question:
I haven't seen anyone talk about why some shows have more tyStreams 
than others. Are they perhaps each fragments of a show when there's 
not enough contiguous space on the drive?
