i haven't seen any messages go through this lately, but here's my story..

my friend gave me a tivo where the modem had been struck by lightning. I 
did the little dss serial port hack connected to a linux box and got it 
working. that wasn't good enough, I wanted more functionality. So i got me 
a tivonet card, hook all that up, and got it going (somewhere in there i 
added an 80 gig to it also).

i have downloaded about all the tools i could find, ExtractStream being one 
of them, and I am having problems playing the streams that I extract. I 
used an nfs mounted drive, and ExtractStream on the tivo to make audio and 
video files. I am having a problem with playing the video file. is there 
some kind of utility or plugin (for windows) that i need to play this file? 
i was also using mplex on a linux box to combine the files, but are still 
unable to play that file. does anyone use their tivo in this way?

i wanted to save the last voyager episode, and the Enterprise series.
