How about using one of Josh's multi-mfs_export programs to get the
tystream on your pc, where you have a wider range of programs to
manipulate it?

If you use TivoApp, say, to get tystreams off the TiVo, replace
"ExtractStream" with mfs_stream_withpri1, found at
<http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/attachment.php?s=3865>
If you like doing commands at the bash-prompt, use this program
instead of sendstream in the example in Merchberger's page,
<http://www.30below.com/%7ezmerch/tivo/index.cfm>

The "withpri1" part of the name refers to the programs' ability to NOT
impair TiVo's ability to record or play shows while you download.
