jdiner has written some great tools for dtivo extraction at
dealdatabase.com.

he has written a stream extractor for the dtivos, mfs_stream.

In order for the streams from a dtivo to make any sense, you have to
load a kernel module to "unscramble" the streams before they're
written to the mfs region, noscramble.o, written by kowesoft, based
on work by Ghost Coder.

since the ty format is different, you have to use a splitter written
for dtivos, vsplit10, another jdiner creation. (latest version, more
to come)

all can be found at:
http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8092

if you rename mfs_stream to ExtractStream, Tivoapp will work the same
way it does on a standalone, no problem. You have to remember to
extract raw tystreams and split them with vsplit10. then any mux tool
(tmpeg) will mux them into a good mpeg file.

hoping i got all the credits right, :)
