Hmmm... I've never seen/heard of that particular scenario before...

Did you try re-splitting the bad blocks w/splitstream? I'd found with
earlier versions of ExtractStream that even tho some shows were
loaded with bad blocks, re-splitting the left-over "bad" tystream
revealed the rest (or at least more) of the same show, usually close
enough in audio sync that it shouldn't make a difference in
watchability. That said, I've seen big "bad blocks" in a few of my
shows that were recorded "on the fly" (i.e. not pre-scheduled -
recorded by hitting the record button on the Tivo) in best quality.
When I snagged DaPrez's State of the Union address, it took 4 shots
thru the extraction, but ended up with the whole thing.

Everything that I record pre-scheduled (thru the to-do list) is set
for "save until I delete" and I've not had any problems with that --
but I do have a coupla Farscapes that have been on the system since
*early* December. I won't have time to extract them for prolly a
week, but I'll bring 'em down, and see what they do.

My only advice is: did you try "sendstream?" A *lot* of my bad block
woes disappeared after I switched to that. Mind you, it's a little
more of a "hands on" approach, but with a 100+ wpm typing speed &
Dual Athlons, it really doesn't take long... ;^>

<blush> Thanks! I'm working on updating it more... Added a
splash-o-color & changed some of the instructions WRT nandub TMPGenc.
