I can never get VLC to show video for me. Just wait till OS X 10.2
comes out, it has quicktime components built in that can play mpg2
video and it works with ty converted streams.

To get video from the tivo I use mfs stream web module. For ty->mpg I
just commented out #include <linux/fs.h> in tyc v0.1 and compiled.

Also I use bbDEMUX to split into elementary files then MacMPEG2Decoder
(mm2d) to convert it to a dv stream for future use. bbDEMUX and mm2d
can be found on http://www.versiontracker.com/ I'm too lazy to find
the exact links.
