Yes, with the default values to the NFS mount, you'll only get about
300Kbyte/sec. thruput -- search the archives for "mount switches" and
you should get a hit on what to change...

I use netcat (I'm an old kantankerous feller) & get about 1 Mbyte/sec
- so I don't know the syntax of the switches you need, but what you
want to do is increase the nfsmount buffer sizes. If you get the
right switches for nfsmount you can expect between 750 - 900
Kbyte/sec, give or take...
