TMPEnc - Re-encode to SVCD and video freezes at ~50 minutes?

I suspect that this might be considered slightly off topic,
but I thought that someone might have a clue for me.

I have been able to sucessfully extract video streams from my tivo -
So far I've tried
Extract Stream -> m2v,m2a
TivoApp -> mpg
SendStream/SplitStream -> m2v,m2a

In any of these 3 cases, I can play the video fine -
up until I use TMPEnc to re-encode it to SVCD standards.

When I do this, things run find for ~50 minutes -
(I haven't noticed audio sync issues - which surprised me.)
at which point the video freezes but the audio continues.

Does anyone have any ideas?
I've tried a couple of MPEG2 players with the same results.

My TMPEnc settings are from:
http://www.digitalregime.com/tivo2svcd/
"High Quality Tivo to SVCD (2 Pass VBR).mcf"
