Okay... help us help you. We could use more info to help you figure
out what's going on, so this is [a start] as to the info we could
use:

* What version of TivoApp are you using? There's a few versions out
there, and I believe there's a few sync bugs in the earlier versions,
but I can't say personally as I've not used it yet. netcat worked for
me when I started, and I'm an old geezer going on 35, so I'm rather
reticient to change... ;-)

* How far off does the synch go? 10 ms, 100 ms, or totally wacko?
Also, when the synch's off, is it roughly the same amount thru the
entire video, or does it vary from the beginning to the end of the
video?

* [not as important, but still helps...] What version of software did
you use to do the transcoding? What OS & Version is your target
machine (Winders_whatever, Linux, NetBSD, BeOS, etc...)

What proggie (and version, if applicable) did you use to split the
tystream? Did you save the logfiles?

Personally, I haven't had a lot of luck with TMPGenc except with my
particular method - altho I do recognize that it doesn't work for
everyone... but did you follow my method very closely? If so, what
happened WRT the audio offset; please be specific - the more info we
get, the easier it'll be to find the problem. If you didn't follow my
method very closely, give it a try. I'm not guaranteeing anything,
but if the process fails in a different way, it'll give us more info
to go on.

Also, I've started a Tivo community where *anyone* can share their
experiences -- check it out at http://tivo.30below.com/ - John
Douglass has a page there that tells his experience with burning to
DVD; I currently don't have the luxury of anything bigger than a CDRW
burner...

And last, but not least, where do you live? Do you have GPS
coordinates for you location? What'd you have for breakfast
yesterday? -- Erm... just kidding... ;-) --

Seriously, the last pieces of info we could use are: Do you have a US
or UK/Oz Tivo? What OS is running on it? What proggies did you use to
get the FSIDs & extract the video?

The more you can provide, the better we can help you burn those
golden disks!!! ;-)

Sounds like you're missing all the *fun*! If you're asking "is there
an entirely point-n-click solution for perfect video to any medium I
want - no tinkering necessary?" the answer is no -- video extraction
is still in the hobby stage; it's going to take some time to find the
solution that's right for you. I can tell you this: If it was just
point-n-click, I wouldn't be here! By the time it gets to that stage,
they'll have DVD-based VCR's with remotes, I'll buy one, become an
appliance operator WRT video, and find something new to tinker with,
like hooking up my Tandy 200 laptop (24K RAM, 72K ROM) to my Icom 746
(AB8KK, to swing a little offtopic... ;-) or holograms, or
something... :-)

Anyone here know how to get DECWindows running on a VAXStation 3100
with the 8-plane grafix card??? ;-)
